Story
In 2025 I’ll be running the London Marathon in memory of my Nan, who passed away from bowel cancer in 2018. Her diagnosis came heartbreakingly late, just weeks before we lost her.
Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK, yet it often goes unnoticed due to vague symptoms that can be easy to miss. For many, like my Nan, this leads to a late diagnosis and fewer treatment options. Through Bowel Cancer UK, I hope to support research that improves early diagnosis and better treatments, as well as vital support for families affected by this disease.
In 2024, I completed the Brighton Marathon, and now I’m taking on the London Marathon as a new challenge in my journey to keep my Nan’s memory alive. Every step I take is a reminder of her strength and love and a commitment to ensuring that more families don’t have to go through the sudden heartbreak that we did.
By supporting Bowel Cancer UK, we can help fund essential research and provide resources for early detection and better family support. With your donation, no matter the size, you’re contributing to a future where no family has to face a devastating, unexpected loss to bowel cancer.
If you’re able, please donate to my fundraiser for Bowel Cancer UK and help me reach my goal.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This one’s for you Nanny 🤍
