Katie's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Katie Shaw is raising money for Stroke Association

Great Manchester Run 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

I am running the Great Manchester Half Marathon on 18th May to raise support and awareness for the Stroke association.

Over numerous years my grandad suffered from multiple strokes which led to him developing vascular dementia and sadly passing away in 2013.

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down and so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough but the brain can adapt. The stroke associations specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

If you have any pennies you can spare, I’d be grateful if you could please kindly consider donating 🤍
