I lost my mum, Lorraine, to cancer in September 2023. She was the most incredible mum to Sarah and I, and the most amazing Nana to Isla, she would have been delighted to be a Nana to Romey too.

After battling with stage 4 cancer for 6 and a half years we were told she had days left. Marie curie were incredible, they provided us with 5 nights worth of nurse cover, meaning that my sister and I could get some sleep, go home and see my daughter for a few hours or at least have someone else there to talk to while we cared for mum.

It costs around £200 a night to provide a family with a nurse to support in their loved one’s final days. Without this support we would have really struggled and may not have been able to give my mum her wish of dying at home. We are so grateful and so my aim is to raise at least £1000 to repay them for the days they supported us and give another family some support.
