In June 2020 my son Oscar required a neonatal stay due to intrauterine growth restriction.
This was during the first Covid lockdown and we were only able to see him 2 hours a day whilst he was in the NICU.
On returning home, I suffered massively with my mental health and the trauma suffered as a result of the whole experience.
When you go through something like this, you need to speak to someone who understands exactly how you feel, someone who has been there.
At Leo's the team understand because they too have been there, and they use their lived experience to help families in the thick of it get the exact support they need.
The team offers lived experience peer support, counselling and talking therapies, EMDR & Flash to treat PTSD, Birth Trauma support, community groups, days out, self care packs for families affected by loss and so much more.
Not everyone understands what it's like to lose a baby, or to need neonatal care, but Leo's do. Every penny raised from the Tees 10K will help fund their services into 2025.
