Story
This July, The Cooperation Band will travel from Glasgow to Kerkrade to compete at the World Music Contest.
To support this incredible journey, I’m taking on a personal challenge: to walk the full distance from Glasgow to Kerkrade - 739 miles (1,181 kilometres), or over 1.5 million steps - before we arrive in July.
This challenge means a great deal to me.
The band is made up of some of the most passionate and dedicated musicians I know - people who give their time, talent, and energy simply for the love of music and the pride of performing at the highest level.
I’m doing this walk in solidarity with their commitment and the huge effort it takes to get the band to the Netherlands to represent Scotland.🏴
This is an especially proud moment, as it will be the first time a Scottish band has competed at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade.
Every step I take is in support of that journey.
The challenge has already begun, and since 23 March I have already completed:
• 113,709 steps
• 87.5 km / 54.4 miles walked
From the Pentland Hills and walks past Highland cows, to walks through Rome, every mile now counts towards Kerkrade.
🎯 My fundraising target is £739 - £1 for every mile from Glasgow to Kerkrade.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps support this amazing journey and means so much to all of us.
Thank you so much for your support.
