Story
12 years ago, we lost my dad to mouth cancer.
His surgery saved him, but it changed everything — he could no longer eat, drink, talk or enjoy simple moments like going to the pub with his mates.
He was alive, but not really living.
In October 2021, I ran the London Marathon.
One month later, we lost my amazing mum. She’d been given the “all clear” after bowel cancer, but life afterwards was incredibly tough — a permanent stoma, a body she no longer recognised, and very little support to navigate what came next.
Both of them survived the initial treatment.
But life after cancer was the hardest battle of all.
Right now, friends and colleagues are showing unbelievable strength in their own cancer journeys. This is for them too 💛
This year I’m running London again (one last time!) to raise money for Penny Brohn UK — an incredible charity supporting people not just through treatment, but through life beyond it.
Because surviving is only part of the story. Learning how to live again matters just as much.
