Story
Katy-Lou and Vicki, two slightly chaotic, definitely impulsive, soon-to-be 50 year old best friends, decided to sign up for the London Marathon to celebrate our up coming half centuries. If you know us, this will not surprise you. We love a big idea, get very excited about it... and figure out the details later. Sometimes this works out brilliantly. Other times, less so. Time will tell which category this one falls into!
In a classic Vicki and K-L move, our marathon preparation has been a little... creative. Have we followed a strict plan? No. Have we winged it at times? Absolutely. Are we slightly concerned about 26.2 miles? Also yes.
But we will get to that finish line? Definitely. Probably laughing, possibly crying and almost certainly with crossed legs!
Joking aside, we are running for the MND Association - no laughing matter. A diagnosis of MND brings home the preciousness of every day, and the MND Association does all it can to make every day count for people suffering from this cruel disease. They deliver understanding and guidance, raise awareness and campaign for better care. They are also the leading charity funder of MND research and are striving for breakthroughs to develop new treatments and ultimately a cure.
MND is devastating. K-L's father, Richard is currently living with this horrid disease, and Granny also suffered. MND doesn't just affect older people, many are diagnosed far too young with their lives changed in an instant. So this run is for dad Richard, and everyone affected by MND.
If you're able to donate, we would be so grateful. Every contribution really does make a difference. And if nothing else, please cheer us on for Sunday 26th April 2026) Thank you so much, Vicki and K-L xx
