Hello my names Kate, and I Am Fundraising for this amazing local charity as I see the difference it makes to people’s lives day in and day out to children, Young people and adults in Basildon, Chelmsford, Brentwood and surrounding areas.

Running has played a massive part in my life massively helped my mental health/ personal wellbeing. Since being told I would never run again in 2022 after nerve surgery, to then recovering, training and running the 2025 London marathon has been a dream.

Unfortunately I will be in need of another foot surgery which means this will be my last long distance run (so why not go out with a bang and raise money for renew by running the Brighton marathon!!)

Everyone should be able to afford mental health support. I have seen 1st hand that the cuts are effecting this charity plus many more.

Massive cuts in the funding of mental health services mean that every year, we have less resources to deal with an ever-growing list of people needing our help. People call us in desperation, and financially unable to priorities themselves.

We know that counselling empowers people to make important changes, help support coping mechanisms, and in an ideal world we would be able to deliver affordable counselling to everyone that needs it.
