Story
At the end of last year, I was laying in a hospital bed, feeling incredibly poorly.
I turned to the lady in the bed next to me and sighed,
"I should have been running the Lincoln Half Marathon today."
To my surprise, she looked at me and said, "I should have been doing it too!"
That’s how I met Gemma.
She had broken her hip, but as an ultra-runner, she had the spirit of a fighter.
She made me a promise that day: "One day, we’ll forget how much pain we’re in right now, and we’ll run an ultra-marathon together."
Recovery wasn't easy. I was discharged, only to be readmitted for surgery.
Healing took much longer than I’d hoped, but I finally got my trainers back on.
True to our word, Gemma and I booked our ultra—and it’s happening Saturday, May 16th.
This date is deeply personal.
On May 16th, 1997, my dad was so full of pride for me. I know he’ll be with me for every single step of this journey from heaven, even if it takes us 10 hours to cross that line.
I am raising money for the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance 💛.
If you can, please sponsor us as we turn a hospital-bed promise into reality!
Thank you xXx
