This opportunity to do a course that culminates in a comedy galla Friday 16th of June at the Royal Court Theatre seemed like an amazing opportunity to raise money for a good cause while learning something new. Someone close to me is currently dealing with cancer, and so many people I know have lost people to this horrible disease. However research and support that the cancer charities do have helped improve survival rates and supported people through their treatments and post cancer living.

"Do something that scares you every day"... you might have seen this meme attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt, but she actually said "You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face", and it's more profound (if less meme-able). I have always been interested in comedy, and I guess you could say I dabble in segues between songs and lectures (if aiming for the eye roll of my bad dad jokes), but I have never trained and learned the tools of the trade, and feel much more comfortable with an instrument in front of me and this is a little scary but I am sure it will be fun... well it has to be funny... Eek! Worst case it is a chance to laugh at me if not with me!
