Zip Line Challenge for Labrador Welfare Charity · 20 June 2025

Established in 1989, Labrador Welfare is a small, breed-specific registered charity (No. 1012192), run entirely by a small group of unpaid but very dedicated volunteers who work hard to rehome Labrador Retrievers that, through no fault of their own, need help to find new loving homes.

Story

As a dedicated dog owner whose pooch requires regular and sometimes costly medication, I've come to appreciate the challenges a small charity like Labrador Welfare faces in supporting dogs of all ages needing new homes - especially those who are rehomed with ongoing medical needs that the charity help to support through their Sponsor Dog scheme.

That’s why I've decided to set myself a challenge and put myself to the ultimate test when I attempt to conquer my fear of water by flying down the world’s fastest zip line at a speed of up to 100mph … which lies over a quarry full of the wet stuff!  (Zip World Penrhyn Quarry )

I hope I won’t be testing the waters on the day and that, with your encouragement, I’ll literally be able to rise to the personal challenge I’ve set myself.  Your support can also make a big difference to a small charity close to my heart who, through their Sponsor Dog Scheme, do all they can to help dogs in their care including those that have challenging medical needs.
