This November, I turn the BIG 4-0 ……. And to close chapter 39, I’ve decided to challenge myself well and truly out of my comfort zone!! October last year, I secured my space to run in the 2025 Manchester Half Marathon!
Fitness for me took a pause after having my two mini Fosters 💜, and tackling a full on house renovation! But two years ago, I was invited to come along to a HIIT class - which I nervously took the plunge to attend…… and I’m so glad I did! I met an amazing bunch of inspiring ladies that LOVE fitness and running!! 6 months later, I went out for my first run (jog!!) in probably about 8 years, and from that, have been trying to build myself up on the whole running front!!
I’m not going to lie, but running is SO HARD!! After taking on this challenge, I knew I needed TIME and a PLAN, as I didn’t know what on earth I was doing!! I’m now into week 14 of a 25 week plan to set me up for the big day, and I’ve definitely encountered many ups and downs! That said, I’ve had so much love and support from friends and family and - I CAN do this 💪🏻!!
Not only do I want to run for this reason, but to also support Cancer Research UK - a charity that is close to so many hearts for so many reasons. I plan to tackle the 13.1 miles in honour of those who are fighting, have fought and those we have sadly lost to this awful disease. If you can spare anything, it would be so appreciated ❤️.
