Story
On Sunday 18 October 2026, myself and my colleagues from St Albans Outpatient department will be taking on The Big Little Trail, a 9.5-mile walk along the Grand Union Canal from Watford General Hospital to Hemel Hempstead Hospital.
We are walking to raise funds for West Herts Hospitals Charity to support paediatric services across our local NHS hospitals. Every day, families rely on these services, and while core NHS funding covers essential care, there is still so much more we can do to help children feel safe, supported, and cared for from the very beginning.
Your support can help fund vital projects that make a real difference, including the BabyWorks Ultrasound Simulator, which provides advanced training for intricate neonatal scans, a Paediatric MRI Entertainment System designed to help children feel calmer during scans, and Child-Friendly Urgent Care to create a more welcoming space for young patients at Watford General’s Urgent Treatment Centre. These improvements matter, because every child deserves the best possible experience when they need care most.
We are asking you to sponsor our walk and help us reach our target of GBP 150. Please give what you can today and help us support these important projects for local children and families. Thank you for your kindness and support.
