This year, I'm taking on the Great North Run to raise money for an incredible cause that is very close to my heart.

Alzheimer's has had a profound impact on my family. My grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's later in life, and seeing the effects of this devastating disease firsthand is something I'll never forget. After retiring, my grandma dedicated years to volunteering for this charity, and her own mother also lived with Alzheimer's.

I'm running in honour of my family and to help support the vital work this charity does for people living with dementia and those who care for them.
