Story
Stuart and I have given ourselves the challenge of hiking 10km round the circular walk of Mam Tor to raise money for Gig Buddies.
Gig Buddies is a charity that matches volunteers with someone with a learning disability and/or autism, so as a pair they can enjoy gigs, events, and nights out together. It’s all about building real friendships, sharing good times, and helping someone feel more connected.
Gig Buddies is super important to us, as its the charity that paired us together 5 and a half years ago! Since then, Stuart and I have built a true friendship together and supported one another through good and bad times, and we have been on many adventures together.
Some of our fun activities we've experienced together include-
Going to watch ice hockey matches. Attending stock car races.
Going to a farm and seeing baby lambs being born.
Going for coffee and brunch.
Tour of London Underground.
We have also taken part in over 10 5km runs during our friendship.
We would love to fundraise more money for Gig Buddies, as it means the charity can train up more volunteers which in turn will give other people the opportunity to enjoy a friendship like ours and get to experience so much more of the world together.
Thank you for your time.
