Story
The worst thing about being homeless is feeling like you're invisible.
This year, the University of Liverpool is taking a fresh approach to fundraising; each Faculty is championing a different charity. Here in Humanities and Social Sciences we are fundraising for the Paper Cup Project, which offers much needed food, hot drinks, clothes, support and advice to rough sleepers and the homeless in Liverpool.
We have a host of fundraising activities planned over the coming year, including:
• a University-wide sports day, taking place on 11th September
• a charity single, called 'Pay It Forward'
• Music and poetry performances at Paper Cup Project
• Tung Auditorium donations
• a sponsored Wirral Way walk.
This is to name just a few of the suggestions and ideas! Please get involved or donate if you can. Every penny raised will help Paper Cup Project in providing much needed food, hot drinks, clothes, support and advice to rough sleepers and the homeless.
My name is Julieann, a homeless girl in Liverpool. The Paper Cup Project has saved me many times from the cold, hunger, thirst & feeling depressed. A warm & welcoming place I love to come to. Thank you to all of the staff, amazing.
