Story
During September 2026, myself and several members of KBL Solicitors LLP’s staff will be taking on Bolton Hospice’s STEPtember challenge. The goal is for each participant to walk, run or hop 300,000 steps during September, which is an average of 10,000 steps per day. This is something we all desperately need in a career which is probably 95% sitting on one’s backside!
All proceeds we manage to raise will be in aid of Bolton Hospice, who provide essential, specialist care for people in our community with terminal or life‑limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families and loved ones. They also ensure that no-one has to face the end of their life alone or without dignity. The Hospice’s services are funded largely by charitable donations , which means every contribution makes a real difference to how many people they can help and how much support they can provide.
This fundraiser is therefore a great way of raising much-needed funds for a very worthy cause and getting myself and everyone else active.
I'm taking part in the fundraiser as a member of the KBL team, but this fundraiser is for us all. We're competing individually, with much-sought-after bragging rights on the line for whoever clocks in the most steps overall; you should therefore expect lots of post‑lunch power walks and pacing on the spot during phone calls.
Our team of participants (so far) consists of the following individuals:
• Myself
• Paige Dobson
• Kirsty Critchley
• Laura Padfield
• Nick Brooks
• Harriet Draper
• Jacob Frost
• Kimberley Daniel-Ellison
• Kiran Akhtar
• Lucy Yates
• Sophie Barnes
• Gillian Hindle
Every step I and the others mentioned above take and every donation we receive will help fund the vital work being done by the Hospice.
Please consider sponsoring us in support of the slightly sweaty but very worthy September mission I and the rest of the team are taking part in. Thank you for any donation you can manage.
