KDs8in8 Challenge (8 challenges over 8.849km carrying a log) · 20 July 2025

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team members are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to recover climbers from precipitous crags, reunite lost walkers with their friends and families, and ensure injured and sick casualties are safely delivered into vital hospital care.

Story

2025 KDS 8in8 Challenge raising money for Coniston Mountain Rescue. Kylan Loved Life, He Loved the outdoors. Life without Kylan will never be the same, it’s a different place now. Although he’s not here I think he would Ov loved to take part in the all the challenges and he’d Ov definitely been in the top 10%. We Love you Kylan. The challenge is set in and around Witherslack you have to carry a log over 8.849km (the height of Everest) and on route there will be 8 challenges to take part in. Its for everyone and people will enter for there reasons,

We will need Strength and courage

we will laugh

It will push us out of our comfort zone

It will be a Grand Day out

We will try to raise as much money as we can.

The charity this year is Coniston Mountain Rescue Team which was founded in 1947 and was the first civilian team of its kind in the UK. Its aim is to provide a life saving search and rescue service to those in need in the remote fells and valleys of their local area.

There are currently over 30 highly trained volunteers on the active list, turning out in all weathers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and all funded solely by donations.
