I’ve decided to take on an exciting challenge—my first-ever marathon on May the 4th—and I want to make it count for something truly meaningful. This marathon isn’t just about personal achievement; it’s about giving back. I’ve chosen to dedicate my run to raising funds for *Daisy Lodge*, an incredible charity based in Newcastle.

Daisy Lodge is a purpose-built therapeutic centre that offers short breaks for families whose lives have been turned upside down by childhood cancer. It’s a sanctuary, providing a much-needed respite from the relentless grind of hospital visits, treatments, and sleepless nights. Here, families can step away from the stresses of their reality and reconnect with one another, finding moments of peace and joy in an otherwise difficult journey.

For children diagnosed with cancer and their families, every day is a struggle. The uncertainty, the pain, and the emotional and physical toll of cancer are overwhelming. But Daisy Lodge offers these families not just a break, but a place to heal, to restore their strength, and to make lasting memories.

I’m running this marathon not only to push myself beyond what I thought was possible, but also to help raise the funds Daisy Lodge needs to continue supporting families in their time of greatest need. Every penny raised will go directly to providing these essential short breaks and therapeutic services.
