🎉 Keeley’s Questionable Life Choices (But for a Brilliant Cause!) 🎉
On 18th April, I will be taking on the Shropshire Way 42km race… yes, that’s 42 kilometres, a full marathon distance.
Now here’s the important bit: I have never run more than a Half marathon...or a Full marathon with over 3500ft of elevation? (…until now).
So how did this happen? Well, after receiving a birthday present for my 40th, I decided that running 42km over hills and trails was, obviously, a fantastic idea…(!)
What started as a “this seemed like a good idea at the time” moment has turned into a real challenge — one that will push me far beyond anything I've ever done before. Let’s be honest, there will probably be moments somewhere up those hills where I will be questioning every life decision that led me there.
But there’s a very important reason I'm doing it.
I work for Pave Aways Ltd, and their charity of the year is the Alzheimer’s Society — a cause that means a lot to many of us. So this isn’t just about surviving 42km (and those lovely hills); it’s about raising money for a charity doing incredible work supporting people affected by dementia.
Every donation will help keep me moving forward — especially when my legs (and possibly my sense of humour) start to give up somewhere around kilometre 30.
So if you’d like to support me on this slightly mad, definitely challenging, and very worthwhile journey, please donate if you can. It’ll make a huge difference — to the charity, and quite possibly to my chances of making it to the finish line!
Let’s get me there!!
