Story
I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon this year to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation!
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK's leading mental health charity. As well as promoting public engagement with mental health, it produces research exploring the causes and preventions of poor mental health, advocates for progressive policy change, and carries out a variety of programmes across the UK tailored to improving mental health in specific communities.
I work in a school for teenage boys with social, emotional, and mental health needs, and one of my favourite of these programmes is Becoming A Man, which offers a space for young men to come together and discuss issues in their lives – issues at school, at home, in the park, or on their estate. You can read more about it here: Becoming A Man (BAM)
Running has been absolutely essential to keeping me sane and healthy through some rough times. So it feels really meaningful to have the opportunity to run my first (and very possibly only) marathon for this amazing charity.
Please give generously to support the Mental Health Foundation's work. My Strava will be linked to this page so you can keep track of my training (if that's what you're into). Thank you so much!
