Story
Keira was a beautiful, kind, considerate & smiley young lady who loved life. Keira did many activities but her favourite thing was to ride her beloved pony Smokey.
In 2022, a week before Keira turned 12, she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) - Bone Marrow Cancer. Unfortunately, whilst in hospital undergoing treatment for the Cancer, Keira developed a serious condition called Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) which is a life-threatening skin condition that causes blistering and peeling of the skin. It's the most severe form of Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS). In Keira's case she lost 100% of her skin which required multiple skin grafts and meant she was in ICU for months. On June 28th 2023 Keira sadly passed away and left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who loved her.
In Keira's Memory, we would like to raise funds for SJS Awareness UK to further the research required.
