Story
On Friday 13th 😬 and Saturday 14th June members of the Blue Light Cycle Club will be riding from Whitehaven to Tynemouth and then back again. Over 250 miles to raise funds to support Care of Police Survivors.
COPS provides peer support opportunities, access to counselling services and other opportunities to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.
"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."
Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.
The COPS charity holds a very personal significance for me. My best friend, crewmate and neighbour Stuart Ross was killed in a police helicopter crash in 1998. I have witnessed first hand the devastation this had on Stuart’s widow Brenda’s life in the decades which followed.
This year I am riding three long distance events raising funds for UK COPS. In addition to C2C2C I rode 1100 miles indoors in January in the UK Police Virtual Unity Tour and will be riding the outdoor UK Police Unity Tour in August. The C2C2C will be by far the hardest challenge so please support me on this adventure if you can.
Any donations you can make will make a huge difference to this charity!
