Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am deeply passionate about supporting Dementia Together Wirral, a local charity that provides crucial assistance to families affected by this devastating disease.

I am reaching out to seek your support in spreading the word and contributing towards our fundraising goal. This year, I have taken on the challenge of participating in a series of open water swims on 18th May, 3rd August, and 22nd September 2024. As someone who only learned to swim properly a few years ago, this endeavour is both daunting and meaningful to me.

The distances I will be swimming - 1 km, 2 km, and 3.8 km - symbolise the struggles faced by those living with dementia on a daily basis. With the ageing population and increasing prevalence of dementia, it has become a pressing health and care issue worldwide. In England alone, approximately 680,000 people are affected by dementia.

By supporting my efforts, you will be contributing directly to this important cause. Donating through JustGiving is secure and efficient, ensuring that your contribution reaches Dementia Together Wirral without delay.
