Keith's fundraiser for Marie Curie

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10K 2024 · 25 May 2024 ·
Last summer we lost Michelle Reid, my sister-in-law, to cancer. On Saturday I’m coming out of ‘race retirement’ taking on the 10k run at Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2024 in aid of Marie Curie.
Marie Curie nurses did an incredible job caring for Michelle and supporting my brother-in-law Simon and our family during her final days at home. If you can spare a few pounds to make a donation to support a good cause and help me go that little bit faster around the race course it would be very much appreciated.
Where your donation could go:
· £26 could help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone for friends or family of someone with a terminal illness.
· £190 could help fund an electricity bill for a hospice for a day
· £530 could help fund a Helper volunteer to support a household for a year. They help provide companionship to someone with a terminal illness, a simple chat with a cup of tea, or help with errands such as a food shop.
If you knew Michelle, you’ll know she loved a bit of banter and how much fun she would be having at my expense at the thought of my running 10K on Saturday. But behind the humour, I think she’d be cheering me on and be touched to know that funds were being raised in her to name help other families. Please donate if you can.
Many thanks
Keith
