Story
Cycle Alpe d’Huez. Some of you will know I’m a keen road cyclist and that I particularly like hills! So with a mixture of passion & madness and to mark my 70th Birthday, I’m setting myself the epic challenge of climbing the iconic Tour de France Alpe d’Huez mountain. This challenge shouldn’t be underestimated, it’s 14km includes 21 switchback bends, at high altitude, with an average gradient of 8.1% with absolutely no recovery points along the way - it’s all up hill!!!

Bridewell Gardens is an Oxfordshire charity providing a vital mental health recovery service to adults living in the county who have experienced severe and enduring mental illness. We use social and therapeutic horticulture in a working walled garden and vineyard. People referred to Bridewell work in teams, on a wide variety of horticultural and craft activities which are challenging and from which they can derive a sense of achievement. Our goal is to help people into jobs, voluntary roles or other meaningful activity in the wider community.
