Story
Today I wobbled over the finish line in Irun after starting in Roses on Sunday. I covered 725km and climbed over 17km across the Pyrenees.
Although it has been incredibly tough, absolutely brutal at times, I have pedalled through some amazing places. The varied biomes have served up 40 degree heat, thunderstorms, meadows, lovely forests, dry river beds, savannah and mountains. Lots and lots of mountains.
Firstly I’d like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. With the money you kindly donated, the fish will be back at the chemotherapy department for good! Anyone who knows me knows that I like the little things in life. Maybe this is one of them that will change a small part of someone’s outlook and shouldn’t be underestimated. Thank you.
The gold thanks go to:
Izzy - my partner in crime, trainer, motivator and bike loaner who lent me his after mine broke on stage 3.
TYR osteopathy - for fixing my knee. Sorry for ruining it again. I’ll be back!
Dom from Orbea - for making me Orbea’s slowest sponsored rider.
Hunt Wheels - for packing me on my way with cool gear.
My family - for their endless love and support. I really needed a few pep talks!
Lovely Carolyn - who has kindly and graciously endured months of me moaning, talking about everything bike, considering tyre choices at 3am and a conservatory with at least 3 bikes in at any time and gear for 6 months. She has also been super mum whilst I was awa
I’m going to recharge in Sans Sebastian for a few days and will see you all soon!
Peace and love.
Keith.
