In 2012, I stood on the sidelines of the very first SLM marathon, filled with admiration for the spirited individuals of all ages ready to tackle the challenge. Sadly, my health at that time kept me from participating. For seven long years, I watched, yearning to be a part of this incredible event. Finally, in 2021, I found the courage to join the 5KM race, completing it in just over an hour. My determination pushed me further, and in 2022, I completed the same distance in under 35 minutes.

With newfound strength, I challenged myself to walk the 10KM race in 2023, and I triumphed with minimal health issues. At the finish line, I made a promise to attempt the half marathon in 2024. This dream fuels not just my personal journey to better health but also my passion for making a difference in the lives of the children living on the merging of Sierra Leone.
