Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Anyone who knows me knows how private I am so this is hard to share. In December 2020 we got the worst news possible. We got the news that there was nothing else they could do to treat Mums cancer. We were all absolutely devastated. It was coming up to Christmas and we were beside our selves. This was also during a covid lockdown so we couldn’t have any visitors. We were told we had to make a decision whether or not to admit Mum into a hospice but we wouldn’t be able to visit her because of covid. The other option available was we could choose to care for Mum ourselves at our home. We obviously took this option. We didn’t know how to care for someone that needed palliative care so it was very scary. We reached out to the big charities for help, But to no avail. Eventually McMillian put us in touch with East Cheshire Hospice. They have a service called Hospice at home. They came and helped us and Mum. They were just incredible. What they did for us as a family we will never be able to thank them enough. They tailored the care to suit our ever changing needs. We had daily and hourly support If needed. They made my Mum feel special and treated our family with good humour and dignity right up to the end. They helped care for Mum at home and allowed us to spend precious time we wouldn’t have got together if Mum had to be admitted into a hospice or hospital. They were so supportive and caring in our time of need and I can only describe them as Angels. East Cheshire Hospice doesn’t get any help other than fund raising. It needs around £7500 a day. Myself and Dave are both going to be jumping out of a plane at 15000ft on 15th July. I’m asking please, please, please, could you support us and make a donation no matter how small to help this incredible charity. It means so much to me.
