Story

1000 Miles in 48 Hours

For those that don’t know what this is about here is a bit of background info…

Back in 2022 we ran a challenge called 1000 miles in 1000 hours where by we ran/walked a mile every hour for 1000 hours up at the Rugby club in memory of a great man Neil Mustoe who passed away in 2022 from MND. We fundraised a huge amount which went directly to Kings College where they carry out a lot of the research and trials into finding a cure for this awful disease.

Then in 2023 we decided to continue the fundraising and awareness by doing it again but this time we challenged ourselves to do the 1000 miles but in only 48 hours, not only did we do it, we completely smashed it by covering an outstanding 1664 miles !

Well we have decided to continue with the fundraising and awareness by doing this again as not only have we lost our beloved Neil Mustoe but we sadly lost another friend Tony Sherritt late last year to this awful disease.

So this time round how amazing would it be if we could beat the total miles covered last year ????

How this will work will be for you just to turn up at anytime between 2pm Friday 3rd May and 2pm Sunday 5th May and run ‘Neils Mile’ which is a 1 mile route starting and finishing at the Rugby Club. You can run as many miles as you like either at once or if you wanted to come along at different times of the day and night that is also acceptable .. we just need to cover 1000 miles on those 48 hours.

Again we will be calling on all you amazing people to get involved wether it be running or helping out on base camp where we will need full coverage to take names and how many miles have been completed. Nearer the time we will send out a timetable for base camp just so we know it’s covered.

I think this will be a huge challenge but I know that we CAN do this 🙏

Once the running has finished on Sunday 5th May we will then be holding a BBQ, live band, disco and a raffle/tombola.
