Story
21st of April marks a year since we lost our Dad (Big Des). Dad is never far from our thoughts and sorely missed. We have challenged ourselves with doing a sponsored walk in his memory to not only mark the occasion but to also raise some much needed funds for The Scott Martin Foundation. It seemed fitting to start the walk from somewhere that reminded us of Dad so the walk will start from Celtic Park at sunrise and end back home in Wallacsetone, according to google maps this should take us 11.5 hours but we love a challenge so hoping to be back home in plenty time for a much deserved family take away.
The Scott Martin foundation does amazing work in the community raising awareness about youth suicide and mental health. The Foundation was established by Scott's Mum Samantha following the tragic passing of her son, Scott, at the age of 16. Scott was a talented young athlete, excelling in both boxing and football. The foundation aims to raise awareness about youth suicide and mental health, educate people on how to support young individuals struggling with mental health issues, and provide support through exercise, boxing, private counseling, and therapies.
Any sponsorship is very much appreciated and of course we welcome anyone to join us that is up for the challenge.
