Story

In April 2026, I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause alongside my amazing sisters 🥰 Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.

Why are we doing this?

We’re supporting a truly special little boy, Aarean, who was born in March 2023. Shortly after his birth, Aarean was diagnosed with a rare condition called Lipomyelomeningocele — a fatty mass that affects the spine. This condition causes a large lump under the skin that attaches to the spinal cord, which can lead to nerve damage, and in some cases, loss of functions like walking or bladder control.

From the moment he was born, Aarean faced overwhelming challenges. Just hours after his birth, he was separated from his mother and transferred to the Children’s NICU ward at King’s College Hospital. Aarean underwent multiple surgeries, the first of which took over 9 hours, but complications led to further surgeries and a prolonged stay in the NICU.

Despite all of this, Aarean is now a bubbly, cheeky 2-year-old running around and living a happy life. His recovery is a testament to the amazing care he received from the neurosurgeons and staff at King’s College Hospital. Thanks to them, Aarean is thriving, and his family was supported every step of the way.

The care provided to Aarean and other children like him at King’s College Hospital is priceless. But it’s not just the medical care that makes a difference. The hospital's commitment to supporting families during the toughest moments of their lives is just as critical. King’s College Hospital even provided a place for Aarean's parents to stay so they could be together during this incredibly challenging time.

How can you help?

The funds we raise will go directly Kings Collage Hospital Charity ensuring that families like Aarean’s can stay together during the most difficult times. Without King’s College Hospital, many children just like Aarean might not be here today.

Please consider digging deep and helping us reach our fundraising goal. Whether it’s loose change from the back of your sofa, that spare £5 you have lying around, or anything in between, every little bit helps and will make a huge difference.

Let’s be part of something amazing — help us support those who need extra special care in the most challenging moments of their lives. Together, we can make a real impact!

Thank you for your generosity! Xx
