Gift of a Wedding is a charity based in the North West of England. For over 12 years, we have planned urgent weddings and vow renewals for people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses living in the UK. Visit our Facebook or Instagram pages to see the 300 weddings we have planned.

Story

I may have been a bit crazy and signed up for the London Landmarks Half Marathon ballot, and guess what? I actually got in! Which is wild because, as some of you know, I don’t run… like, at all. But here we go!

I’m raising money because I’ve recently embarked on a personal journey to improve my health and fitness. So, why not start with a half marathon, right? This crazy idea not only keeps me committed but also supports a cause that has profoundly touched me

Back in April/May 2024, my old workplace was contacted by Gift of a Wedding to help a terminally ill gentleman fulfil his dying wish of renewing his wedding vows. Sadly, he passed away before it could happen, and this deeply moved me. Learning about Gift of a Wedding's mission to bring joy, love, and happiness to those with terminal or life-shortening illnesses through weddings and vow renewals, I felt compelled to support them.

This amazing cause relies on the generosity of the wedding industry, volunteers across the UK, and donations. I’m raising funds to help create precious moments of joy for those in need and to provide lasting memories for their loved ones.

On Sunday, 6th April 2025, I’ll be huffing and puffing my way through the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Your generous support will help me make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing terminal illnesses. Please join me in supporting Gift of a Wedding as we strive to bring hope and happiness to those who need it most.

Thank you for your support (and maybe for cheering me on as I try not to trip over my own feet)!
