Story
We’re raising money for Francis House Children’s Hospice, a place that means so much to me. I’ve worked there for four years as a nurse and have recently joined the emotional and bereavement support team. People often ask if it’s hard to work there, but honestly, it’s a privilege.
Francis House is a calm, compassionate and supportive environment where everyone works incredibly hard to give the best possible care to children, young people and their families. I truly love my job, it’s my favourite job of all time and I wouldn’t work anywhere else.
We offer personalised respite for children, young adults and their families, supported by a skilled team of nurses and other professionals who work together to ensure each stay is safe, fun and a positive experience. Our aim is to give parents and carers the opportunity to have a well-deserved rest, knowing their loved ones are receiving exceptional care. We also provide expert end-of-life care, thoughtfully considering the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of both the young person and their family. Our Rainbow Room is open to all young people who need a peaceful place to rest following their death. In addition, we offer dedicated support for brothers and sisters through fun group activities and personalised sessions.
Please only donate if you can, any amount is hugely appreciated. (It takes over 4million to stay open each year) We are a charity-based hospice, not private, and every donation really does make a difference.
I’d also encourage you to look at the Francis House website to learn more about the diverse range of services we provide. if you or anyone you know think we could help you, get in touch via the website.
Love
Kelly
