CLDF and the British Liver Trust have merged - we are the only UK charity for all liver conditions. We support parents, children, young people and adults affected, through tailored support and information, and we campaign for improved early detection and better treatment and care.

Story

In May, I’ll be taking on a continuous 100km walk along the Jurassic Coast — without stopping to sleep. It’s going to be physically and mentally exhausting, but it’s nothing compared to what many people living with liver disease face every day.

Last year, my brother was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). PSC is a rare, chronic liver disease with no known cure and no specific treatment. For someone in their 20s, it has had a huge impact on his life — affecting his health, his plans, and his sense of normality. Right now, all he can do is learn to live with the condition and manage it as best he can.

What makes PSC even harder is how little is still known about it. While clinical trials are ongoing and hope exists for the future, research is desperately needed to find effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

That’s why I’m raising money for The British Liver Trust, the UK’s leading liver disease charity. They work tirelessly to improve prevention, awareness, and support for people affected by liver disease. They provide a nurse-led helpline, online communities, and vital resources for patients and families, while also campaigning for better detection and treatment through initiatives like Love Your Liver. Crucially, they also support research to reduce the impact of liver disease and liver cancer.

By supporting this challenge, you’re helping to fund research, provide support to families like mine, and raise awareness of liver diseases that are too often overlooked.

Every donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. Thank you for supporting me — and for supporting everyone affected by liver disease.
