We provide comfort and support to Parents and siblings following the loss of a baby or babies before, during or shortly after birth. We are working all over Sussex offering Bereavement Support, Specialist Bereavement Counselling* and Support Programmes for Mums and Dads. We are working alongside the Brighton Sussex and University Hospitals in Sussex to create gentle, calm spaces for families to spend time with their baby/ies within their Hospitals. We have undertaken a number of Refurbishment projects across the Early Pregnancy Units and Labour Wards and Day Assessment Units to date to ensure that parents can spend time with their baby or babies in a dignified, gentle and precious way before heartbreakingly saying goodbye. "We truly cannot thank you enough for creating such a safe, well equipped space for us to say hello and goodbye to our beautiful baby boys" We base our Charity on heartfelt, compassionate experiences to educate and raise awareness of loss for Parents & Siblings. Working closely with Healthcare professionals to ensure your voices are heard and your babies are honoured. We have a range of Resources, a Library, Information Packs and Bereavement Support Programmes available to support funded counselling. Our online Support Groups have allowed a dedicated space for Parents to explore their feelings, thoughts and share their grief journey with others. "This group has been a real lifeline for me during some of the hardest days of my life"

Story

Next year, Kelly (Noahs mum), Rob (Noahs Dad) and Ella (Noahs Auntie) are all running the Brighton Half Marathon for Oscars Wish Foundation in memory of Noah and all of the babies gone too soon.

Our Story:

Back in May 2022, we excitedly headed into our 20 week scan to see our little baby again and to find out if we would be having a boy or girl - ready to celebrate with our 2 children and rest of our family the following day at our gender reveal. As I lay down on the bed and the sonographer started scanning we were met with silence and shortly followed the words no expecting parent ever wants to hear.. 'I'm, sorry there is no heartbeat'. In that moment our world stopped spinning and life as we knew it changed forever.

2 days later we went back to hospital and was admitted into the Willow suite - a specialist room at RSCH where women in my position can have their babies away from the labour ward. My labour started very slowly but by 10pm I was in established labour, this went on for a good few heartbreaking hours, the whole time knowing what the outcome was going to be.

And so, on Friday 20th May and 3.05am, our gorgeous baby boy, Noah Robert McLaren was silently born but no-one could have ever prepared us for all the extra heartbreak that would come once we saw our precious boy.

Oscars Wish Foundation supported our family in its darkest moments and still continues to do so to this day. They support hundreds of local families every year by offering counselling, providing specialised hospital suites where families can spend precious time with their baby/ies, creating children/sibling support packs for educational settings, and running community events that bring comfort and connection. Their work matters deeply, and we are honoured to raise funds in Noah’s name.

This will be Kelly and Ella's first experience of any running event (and we're yet to start training!) and Robs 5th half marathon! It will be very emotional but meaningful and we are proud to be doing this together and so grateful for your support.

Thank you to everyone who donates. Every penny, big or small, means the world to us and to the charity <3
