I’m running for TeamBrumsHospice in the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 3 May, to raise vital funds for Birmingham Hospice and help make every moment matter.

Story

When Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer my world came crashing down, it all happened so fast and seeing him in so much pain was brutal.

One saving grace was the support from Birmingham Hospice. We couldn’t have asked for a more supportive, empathic and caring team of angels. Dad only went in for pain management but he quickly deteriorated and the dignity the team provided was second to none.

The bereavement and counselling team have also been incredible, I don’t think I could have supported Lyla without them.

My counsellor has given me hope that I can still live & grieve simultaneously.

Dad’s Mum also passed away at the hospice so they have always been close to my heart but I really want to do whatever I can to say thank you in memory of Dad.

Running the half is going to be a huge challenge, doing it on my own with a history of injuries I know it’s going to be tough but I also know Dad will be with me every step of the way and I won’t give up.

Your kind donation will help the hospices’ dedicated nurses and healthcare teams support local people living with a terminal diagnosis.

They really appreciate your support, at a time when their services need more funding than ever.

Thank you so much

Kelly xx
