I'm Skydiving for Cancer Research – Not a Dare, but a Life Choice 💙
On the 26th of June, I’ll be jumping out of a plane, yes, skydiving, as part of the “Dare to Dive” challenge with Aventum group. And while the title might suggest otherwise, this isn’t something I was dared into. It’s a decision I’ve made to face fear head-on and support a cause that’s become deeply personal to me.
Cancer has recently turned my world upside down. My dad is currently battling an aggressive form of lung cancer, and, in a devastating twist, my mum has also just been diagnosed and will soon undergo surgery to remove a tumour from her lung.
It’s hard to put into words how frightening and overwhelming this time has been for our family. But it’s also made me reflect on how quickly life can change – and how important it is to make the most of every moment and opportunity.
That’s why I’m doing this skydive. To step out of my comfort zone. To feel alive. And most importantly, to raise vital funds for Worldwide Cancer Research, an incredible charity funding pioneering research projects that aim to find new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.
I’m asking for your support. Whether it’s the price of your morning flat white or a more generous donation, every penny counts. Your support won’t just help me face my fear – it will help fund the research that could change lives like my parents’, and so many others around the world.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
