Story

Hello friends and family!

I am delighted to be taking on another fundraising challenge in support of the truly fantastic work that Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) do for improving the lives of everyone living with type 1 diabetes. As you know, my brave and beautiful nephew, Winston, was diagnosed with T1D when he was 2 and he's been growing and managing it these last 6 years like a star. This is for Winston.

My last T1D fundraiser was back in Spring 2022, when I 'cycled for a cure' during May, covering 400 miles and raising a whopping £900!

Since my cycling accident last October, I'm not really able to cycle much and so I started jogging to keep healthy. So, when BT1D offered me a last minute spot on the upcoming London Landmarks Half, I said yes - I'm in for Win! (For Winston, not the 'win'!) :-)

I was (and am) so grateful for the total funds raised last time, so I've increased my original target a little to £500. For my running target, I'm aiming to finish the race by 1h55m...

If you're able to donate for Win and BT1D, you're type one-derful and thank you! Another way to support would be to come and cheer me along on race day with Win and family, which will be greatly appreciated. And of course, you're welcome to share any of my Insta fundraising posts too.
