Swansea Bay Health Charity is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board. We support the South West Wales Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital, helping deliver lifesaving NHS treatments including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Story

Our Cancer Centre based at Singleton hospital is for all patients in South West Wales. We provide cancer care to patients who would normally be cared for in other health boards.

My Story

My 2026 Ironman Challenge: A Journey of Strength, Memory, and Hope

In 2026, I’m taking on a personal challenge that will push me to my absolute limits—a 3-part Ironman journey across the UK. My goal is to honor the memories of two incredible people and many others who have won and lost the fight against Cancer. I lost my Dad to cancer in October 2024, and my Auntie Lucy, who we lost a few years prior.

Here’s the plan:

Bolton 70.3 – June 2026

Swansea 70.3 – July 2026

Ironman Wales, Tenby – September 2026 (the grand finale)

This challenge is deeply personal, as I never got to finish Ironman Wales in 2024 due to an injury. Now, I’m determined to complete it for them and for the countless others fighting cancer every day.

Why am I doing this?

As an Ambassador for the South West Wales Cancer Fund, I’m raising money for the Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital, a place that was a lifeline for my family during some of the hardest times of our lives. The funds raised will directly support:

Cancer research

Groundbreaking treatments

Patient equipment and staff training

The NHS staff at the Cancer Centre are true heroes. Their care, compassion, and dedication mean the world to me and my family, and I want to help ensure they can continue their vital work.

The Challenge

Over the course of my journey, I’ll be swimming 4.8 miles, cycling 224 hilly miles, and running 52.4 miles—along with the countless hours of training needed to prepare for each event. It’s going to be grueling, but it’s nothing compared to what cancer patients and their families endure every single day.

How You Can Help

Goal: £5000

I’m aiming to raise £5000 for the South West Wales Cancer Centre. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in the fight against cancer. Together, we can help fund the essential research, equipment, and training that goes beyond NHS core funding, ensuring this incredible facility continues to provide world-class care for cancer patients in South West Wales.

Let’s do this together. 🙏

Your support means everything and will help me reach my goal of making a real impact.
