Story

We Did it!

With a combined age of 147, just what are these two old boys up to!!!

Ken Griffiths and Richard Reincke, alias Community Ken and Tricky Dickie are dusting down their running shoes, to take part in the Great South Run, which is taking place on Sunday October 16th. When asked, they were saying “Running ten miles around the streets of Portsmouth, seems like so much fun when you are in your 70’s!”

That may as well be, but the training is hard, tiring and no fun at all.

However, the thought of raising much needed money for two local Haslemere charities, The Hunter Centre (supporting those living with dementia) and Talk to Me (a counseling service run from Haslewey Community Centre), lessons the pain and with your help they will raise their £2,500 target.

As President and Friend of the Rotary Club of Haslemere, they are certainly rocking the boat when it comes to the typical Rotarian image and good for them. To quote one of their well-known sayings “We will not let the old man in!”

Go on, dip into your piggy bank and support these two fine gentlemen. With your support, the training and run itself will be so much easier for them.
