End of life will come to us all at some point and there are thousands of people who need care, help and counselling doing this time - from the patients themselves to family and friends. The Victoria Hospice can play a major role in helping those in palliative care - almost everyone either knows someone who has needed this or has a friend who has a friend or family member who has requested help. however, this care does not come from free.

Although the NHS does cover the cost of the basic care, there are many things that the Victoria Hospice can help with that is not covered in the basic NHS budget. these things can range from "cuddle beds" which allow family members (or pets) more bonding time with there loved ones, to specialised chairs for increased comfort.

The Victoria Hospice do such a fantastic job and it is my hope that doing raising awareness of this during my journey of training and throughout the Glasgow to Edinburgh Ultra race itself in October to allow them to give THE best care for families because you just never know when you might need them.
