Story
Here we go again! Leading the way as we always do. First out of the blocks this year for Marching for Finley. Sunday 3rd May!
This year we are Marching from Dungeness to Hythe. 15 miles across Romney Marsh across the “invasion coast” that was intended to be the German landing grounds should Hitlers plans of operation sealion come to fruition. Highly fortified including its own armoured train on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch railway the coast is a treasure trove of ww2 artefacts and even some pre war history with the sound mirrors developed to identify enemy aircraft.
The Buffs (Kent independent company) are marching along a route provided by our erstwhile Sargent Frank Saunders taking in these sights while raising funds for the charity close to our hearts in Finley's Touch, a charity that helps children with cancer.
Members of the We have Ways of Making You Talk the famous 'Independent Company' from London with Sunray, Kent, West Wales, Cambridge/Norfolk, Bristol, Dorset, Northern, Highlands and Essex IC's will set up sponsored marches across various regions of the UK, joining forces to raise funds for the charity.
The Marches are meticulously planned and co-ordinated, visiting historical sites related to World War II but most importantly bringing friends of the podcast together for a common goal, raising funds and have fun in the process.
The initiative encourages community involvement and donations to support families affected by cancer.
