When I was born I had to spend some time in SCBU (special care baby unit) at Royal Preston Hospital, they looked after me and my family extremely well, I was born genetically blessed, Trisomy 21, Down syndrome! My Mum was sat down and prepared for the worst, short life expectancies and told all the things I may not be able to do, from walking, talking to the big things. She told my wonderful consultant “I beg to differ” and I have done everything I can in my life to agree with her point! And here we are begging not to differ ;) but for your hard earned cash. For a wonderful charity that helps very many people born like and unlike me! My Nephew Benji was born August 2022 at 33 weeks premature, the unit also took extremely good care of him and supporting not just his parents but our family as a whole.

When I was 11 years old my Step Dad was watching an old man film and soldiers where jumping out of an aeroplane and I was like “wow, epic!!” And ever since then I have asked my Mum every month, when can I do a parachute jump! My mum is scared of heights but my Dad pretty much let’s me do whatever I want, I am an adrenaline junkie (which scares my Mum but Dad never says no!). So he told me if Mum agrees, he will pay for me to do a parachute jump for my 16th birthday!

So here I am, turning 16 on the 6th of March, genetically blessed with designer genes ;) and finally after my medical assessment has now been completed, my dream is coming true! On Sunday the 30th April 2023 I will jump out of an aeroplane attached to my instructor (weather permitted, boring rules!!). I will be jumping out of a plane for all the babies that need that little extra support early in their lives!
