Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We’re raising funds for the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation in aid of The Children’s Trust, a wonderful charity that supports children with brain injuries and neurodisabilities — and we’re taking on a challenge that’s incredibly close to my heart to do it:
🏃♀️We’re Running the London Marathon 2026!
Yes — in April 2026, we’ll be taking on the London Marathon, all 26.2 miles, in honour of both our Nan’s and Rosie’s Grandad. It’s going to be one of the toughest physical and emotional challenges we’ve ever faced, but we know exactly why we’re doing it — and who we’re doing it for.
Why The Children’s Trust?
The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injuries. They provide specialist rehabilitation, education, and care to help young lives recover and rebuild after life-altering events. Their work gives children and families hope, purpose, and a future — when everything has changed.
But this cause is especially close to us for personal reasons...
❤️ A Very Special Woman – Kera’s Nan
Kera’s Nan who was more like a Mum to her sadly passed away on 17th August 2025 following a diagnoses of a progressive form of Lewy Body Dementia disease. It was an incredibly difficult and emotional time watching someone she loves so much begin to fade from the person she once was.
But her Nan’s life has always been about giving. She dedicated her entire career to working with and caring for children with brain injuries and life-limiting conditions — the very children The Children’s Trust supports. Her compassion, patience, and tireless commitment shaped the lives of countless young people and families.
So now, Kera’s doing this in her honour.
This marathon — and every single pound we raise — is for her, for the children she once cared for, and for all the young lives The Children’s Trust continues to support today.
❤️ A Very Special Couple – Rosie’s Grandparents
Rosie sadly lost her Nan who she called Poppy a few years ago to Dementia. Rosie spoke with her grandparents many times about doing The London Marathon and made them a promise on her 18th birthday that she would follow in their footsteps and run the race.
Sadly, Rosie lost her grandparents before she was able to take on the challenge of the Marathon but knows they will be with her throughout the training and when she crosses that finish line🕊️
🌟 Please Help Us Make a Difference
If you’re able to donate — no matter how small — you’ll be helping:
• Children facing unimaginable challenges after brain injuries
• Families who need hope and support through difficult recoveries
• And you’ll be honouring the legacy of a Kera’s Nan who spent her life giving to others and Rosie's grandparents who were here biggest supporters in life ❤️
Thank you so much for reading, and for supporting a cause that means the world to us. Your kindness and generosity truly matter.
