Story
Married in April. Gone by December.
That’s how quickly life changed for Josy Gyamfi in 2024. At just 35 years old—full of dreams, energy, and laughter—she was taken from us by a rare form of lung cancer. A diagnosis that came too late, at end-stage.
A year on, the pain remains. And so do the haunting questions: What if…? What if she had been diagnosed just a few months earlier?Maybe—just maybe—my beautiful friend and gossip partner would still be with us.
In memory of Josy, and in honour of all those who faced tragic ends due to late diagnosis or limited access to proper care, I am raising funds to support individuals facing similar battles.
Together, we lift others up.
Together we fight for early detection, better care and more time.
Together, we build a stronger, more compassionate society.
Your donations could help make a difference.These funds would go toward;
a) supporting access to earlier diagnosis and screening
b)providing better treatment options for those I need.
c)raising awareness about rare and aggressive forms of lung cancer.
This November, we're putting our best foot forward for Lung Cancer Awareness Month with the #33MilesForChange Challenge! 👟
We're challenging all InHealth LCS colleagues to cover 33 miles throughout November. Why 33? That's 1 mile for every 1,000 people who die from lung cancer in the UK each year.
Let’s remember their memory and spotlight the crucial work our screening programme does.
We will be supporting the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, who's mission is to ensure everyone diagnosed with lung cancer can live well with the disease for as long as possible.
For the past three decades, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation has been the driving force behind lung cancer research, investing millions of pounds into the early detection of the disease. We have done this, and will continue to do this, because we know if lung cancer is caught early, curative treatment is possible.
