Kerri's GNR Challenge for Survivors

Kerri Brems is raising money for ARCH Teesside

Great North Run 2026 · 13 September 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We are a specialist service based in Teesside, working with with people who have experienced sexual violence and their families. We offer practical & emotional support, counselling and ISVA support through the criminal justice process, whether the incident has taken place recently or historically.

Story

This year, I’m taking on the GNR to raise money for a charity whose work I know is truly life-changing.

Working on the frontline, I have seen the devastating impact sexual violence and abuse can have on children, young people and adults. I have also seen the courage it takes for survivors to speak out, seek support and begin to heal. Too often, survivors carry shame, fear and trauma in silence for years before feeling able to reach for help.

Services like Arch Teesside provide a safe space where survivors are listened to, believed and supported without judgement. This specialist support can make an enormous difference at some of the darkest and most difficult points in someone’s life. This vital work not only supports recovery, but helps people regain a sense of safety, control and hope for the future.

I wanted to challenge myself by running the GNR, (something which, training for, hasn't gone to plan so far this year) but more importantly, I wanted to do something meaningful for a cause that matters deeply to me both personally and professionally. Every mile I run is for the survivors who continue to show incredible strength every single day. GNR is something i have always wanted to experience and to raise money for ARCH at the same time will be an added bonus!

If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much. Your support will help Arch continue providing vital services to those who need them most.

Thank you for supporting me, but most importantly, thank you for supporting survivors.💚
