Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and thank you for showing your interest in Lower Heyford’s Scarecrow Trail 2026!

I am organising this trail to raise funds for the Hummingbird Centre, a cancer support and therapy centre in Bicester.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 41 in November 2024, what followed were two surgeries, eight rounds of preventative chemotherapy, and 15 sessions of radiotherapy, not to mention the endless hospital trips, needles and procedures. I will be forever grateful to our wonderful NHS for getting me through it physically.

Mentally, however, I was the most fragile I had ever been. It was after my active treatment had finished that the Hummingbird Centre stepped in, arranging therapy for me that truly helped me process everything I had been through. I can never thank them enough.

What I can do is raise awareness so that more people know there is a place they can turn to when they need it most, while also raising as much vital funding as I can to support the incredible work they do.

My wonderful village has thrown itself wholeheartedly into creating this Scarecrow Trail with such enthusiasm, and I hope you enjoy it as much as my children and I have enjoyed creating Betty O’Barley & Harry O’Hay!
