Kerry's fundraiser for Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre

Kerry Anderson is raising money for Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre
In memory of Emily Rowling

Be You ! · 21 February 2026

We have been offering children a free holiday to Skegness since 1891. Our centre provides a secure, cosy, and exciting environment for children. Children are nominated to us for a wide variety of reasons, such as financial struggles, respite care, recovery from trauma, or support with well-being.

Story

Kerry and her family and friends are fundraising to support Derbyshire Childrens Holiday Centre in honour of Kerry's beautiful late daughter Emily who would have been celebrating her 30th Birthday in February 2026.

At just age 16, Emily had begun to experience mental health difficulties, sadly things escalated over the next few years, and Emily tragically took her own life in 2019 aged 23. Kerry has chosen Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre as a cause as they support children and families at difficult times, giving them rest, peace, joy and an overall positive experience to make memories.

Rather than focusing on the sadness of loss of Emily, Kerry has chosen to do something positive in her name to help others navigate difficult periods in their lives and help support an organisation that directly works with local children in need.

Beautiful Emily was into alternative style, culture and music festivals, she firmly encouraged everyone around her to be accepting of others and live life to the fullest. She would wholly approve of the ‘Be You’ theme for this important fundraising which will positively impact the wellbeing of local youngsters during vulnerable periods in their lives.
