Story

I’m absolutely delighted to be offered a charity place to run The London Marathon! 🏃🏼‍♀️

I’ll be part of a team of 22 runners who will take on the challenge of running the London Marathon 2025 on behalf of United Response. United Response are a national charity who support people with learning disabilities, autistic people and those with mental health needs to thrive. ❤️

Having worked in SEN/SEMH schools, I have seen the everyday struggles and challenges that people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs have to endure. 👩🏼‍🏫

As some of you know, I had knee surgery in June, so I’ve got a challenge ahead of me to continue to strengthen my knee and surrounding muscles to get me running fit, ready to build my running back up and to start my marathon training plan after Christmas. 🙏🏻

Your support would mean the world to me and to this fantastic charity. 🥰

Since 1973 United Response has been fighting for a society where everyone has the right to live the life they choose, no matter their disability.

United Response's first service was a single house for twelve adults in West Sussex. Now, we operate in over 350 locations, employing over 3,500 staff and supporting over 2,000 people.

The core of our work is supporting people with learning disabilities, autistic people and mental health needs to live independently. Everyone has the right to feel connected, have choice and respect, build relationships, be recognised for their strengths, and call their communities home.

Your donations support people with learning disabilities to develop skills and gain confidence to live fulfilling and active lives. Thank you.
